{Sickly}

I hate making lists and saying I {will} do this and then it doesn't happen. I can say, in my defense, I got sick while in Texas. Before getting sick, though, I did run two days while in Texas. The rest of my time, I was drugged up on sinus & cold meds. Everything was reduced to a hazed state of mind. I am glad that I ran while I could. I wish I would not have gotten sick because I know I would have ran more. As it turns out, I could barely breathe while sitting on the couch, much less attempting to run. :(  I've also not worked out since I got back on Christmas Day thanks to this stupid cold.

Anyway! So, with the new year (actually beginning tomorrow), I'm going to start a new way of eating. I'm going to try to follow the "Type A" plan that follows people's blood types. I decided to try this based what a few people I work with said about it and reading it myself. You know, I really could care less that a few scientist say this diet is bullshit; that you can't determine what people eat on their blood type. For myself, I will be eating healthier foods and it comes with a plan. It's food I like as well. For instance, it says Type A's produce a lot of mucus and should eat less dairy because dairy products produce more mucus and are prone to have more infections because of the mucus. I, for one, can say it is true for myself. I am a type A, I definitely produce a lot of mucus (gross, right?! TMI?), I definitely notice and increase in mucus when I drink milk (gross, I know), and I can't even begin to tell you the amount of sinus infections I have each year.  So, if by eating differently will help me have less sinus infections each year, I will gladly change my diet. I can't even begin to tell you how tired I am of having them. We'll see if this works.

As far as my exercise... I think I do pretty good with working out for the most part. I do believe it will be easier for me to work out once my schedule changes. I will work 2 days, then immediately work 2 nights and then have 4 days off (really 3 1/2). This change will happen on Jan 26/27 time-frame. Right now, I'm thinking I'll take that first day off from working out since it will be the day my body adjusts to going back to days.

So, that's my plans/goals right now.

{I made it!}

To the gym that is, not to the bodypump class. I've decided it's probably not a good thing to wait so long after getting out of work to head to the gym. So, I just went after getting home and did pretty well also! I did 20 minutes on the elliptical, 20 minutes on the bike, and 15 minutes on the stair master. Now if I can only master the eating better portion!!!

{3 Days worth of classes}

Ok. So, here it is! I'm going to do 3 days worth of classes after work this week.

Monday = BodyPump at 7:30
Tuesday = Cycle 6:30 / Yoga 7:30
Wednesday = BodyFlow

Thursday I'm off to Texas to spend Christmas with my parents. I'll hit the post gym Thursday and Friday. Saturday and Sunday as well most likely, it will just be a matter of finding the time with my niece and nephew. Monday will depend on the post gym schedule since it's Christmas Eve, but I'm sure it's doable. Tuesday I'll take the day off since it's Christmas day and I'll be flying back to Colorado.  I'll have to check out my gyms schedule for the rest of the week of Christmas.

{BodyFlow}

It's been awhile but I have been working out, just not as extensively. Working crew makes it hard. An excuse, I know. I've been going to the body flow class again.  Here's the 24 Hours description of it...

BODYFLOW™ is a Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance.

It's a great class and I love it. It's intense while being relaxing at the same time, if that makes any sense.  I'm still extremely sore from yesterday's workout. Yesterday I did the 30 minute CXWorx.  Here's that description...

 a 30-minute revolution in core training, transforming the muscles that power your body every day. Our tried-and-true formula of great choreography and chart-topping music, presented by inspirational instructors and backed by cutting-edge scientific research, will help you run faster… play harder… stand stronger.

Holy moly! Talk about an intense workout!!!  It's only 30 minutes long but I can't tell you how insanely sore I am today. It's definitely a good sore.

{Back and Chest}

Today's workout was back, chest, and cardio.  It was a pretty good workout. I got there around 9:30/9:45 a.m. and was completely surprised by how many people were there!  I still need to get in my squats for the day and a few extra to make up for missing 2 days of squats for the #frostyfitnesschallenge! I'm way behind with only having done 25 so far! :^/

For cardio, I did 30 minutes on the elliptical.

Blurry photo from my hands being shaky after that workout!  :)
Geaux Tigers! ;)

The barbell pullover was much harder than I'd anticipated. Because I'd never done it before, I used the 25lb bar. At first, I thought I wouldn't be able to do it correctly and then on rep #5 (first set), my shoulders rotated back and I thought I was going to drop the bar! It was over my head, but because I'm short, it landed on the bench. Whew. I almost started laughing out loud at myself and decided to go lower in weight until I can master it. So, I went down to 20lbs.  It still felt weird but I was able to get more use out of it on a lower weight.  Here's the video on how it's supposed to be done...

I also don't know if I mentioned it or not, but this is the workout plan I'm using right now. I'm not really following the diet portion of it so much. Just the workout portion.  I'll switch it up to something new after 3 weeks.

{Oh happy day}

Today began very lazy.  I had a massive headache last night after dinner with friends. So, I decided to take two 800mg motrin once I got home and I passed out on the couch shortly after. I woke-up around 6am but was so tired (after affect from too much motrin) so went back to sleep. I slept off and on until 10:45'ish!!!  Anyway, I decided to finally get it together and get up.  After some social media time (yep, I'm addicted) I made some homemade Alfredo! It was quite good but a previous recipe I'd made was way better.  Anyway, At 5pm I finally made it to the gym!! Yay, me! haha :)

I walked 5 minutes on the treadmill for a short warm-up and then ran for 20 minutes (with a 2 1/2 minute break - I made up for that break though by running longer to make it a full 20 minute run).

Another reason for a happy day, other than the run?! My new scarf came in the mail! Woot!  :)

{Lazy Days}

I should have went to the gym today for some cardio. Instead, I chose to be lazy and watch TV and take a nap. By the time I actually got up to do anything, it was already 4pm and I chose instead to go grocery shopping. I'd decided against going to get dinner and drinks with some co-workers at 6pm but while grocery shopping a friend called to go anyway so I decided to go. On the drive down there I started to get a headache. It never really went away and now that I'm home, the headache is as fierce as ever. :(  I took two 800mg motrin pretty much as soon as I got home. Hopefully, it goes away soon. Tomorrow though I'll definitely head to the gym for some cardio.
