{Hate.Night Shifts}

Ugh.  I hate working out on night shifts.  I NEVER get enough sleep. I took yesterday off from working out since I knew it was my first night shift of the 5 day set.  Today's going to be even worse.  I went to bed as soon as I got home, yet still woke up at 10:50am.  WTF.  Seriously?!  My workout it is scheduled for 4:15'ish so I hope I can get in a couple more hours of sleep.  I've been taking the Pre-workout energizer by Vega Sport and that stuff's amazing with the amount of energy it gives me.  I just hope today's workout FEELS good.  What I'm going to do today:

Push-ups on exercise ball
dumbbell flys
bent over dumbbell flys
dumbbell tricep kickback
tricep rope pull-down
skull crusher
incline dumbbell chest press
tricep dips
30 Minutes on the elliptical

I may have to try to get to the gym BY 4pm so I have a full hour and a half to workout.

***UPDATE***
Ugh.  That was a horrible workout, but only really in the sense that I FELT horrible.  I didn't eat anything and that was no bueno.  I need to start preparing some pre-workout foods or at least make sure I have some bananas available to eat before I workout.  How disappointing.  I also only did 20 minutes on the elliptical and didn't have time to do the tricep rope pull-down or the dips.

{I workout}

Last night's workout was pretty awesome.  I felt amazing.  Keeping track has been a good thing.  I saw on 4/29 I did 83lbs on the leg pretty and did 100lbs last night.  :)  I've started using fitbook to record my progress in.  Really, I use my phone first since I don't like carrying a lot of stuff around the gym with me.  So, I send a text to my email and then later transfer the info into the fitbook.  Probably seems like more work, but it works for me.

I found this great blog! Think Fit Goals

{Doing good}

I'm still doing good with working out.  I've been writing down what I do but it's all in the car and I'm feeling too lazy to go out and get it right now.  I feel great.  I feel like crap on the days I decide not to work out.  I still haven't noticed any weight loss though.  The number 150 still pops up each week.  My clothes still fit the same. The only thing I've noticed is how I've started feeling.  So, I still consider that a loss.  Here are some before photo's from 2011; all taken within different times of the year.

155lbs

I HATE back fat.

The last 3 photo's I hate.  I think anyone hates these type of photo's of themselves.  When deciding on a bathing suit the other day, I FELT like I looked like this still.  I don't.  It most like was just because I was going to be around my crush.  Ridiculous.  Anyway, so because I hate back boobs, I've been working that out the most.  I've been working out off and on since, what March?  I've been doing much better these last 2-3 weeks with going more often.  Maybe later tonight I'll take some more photo's for a side-by-side comparison.  I'm hoping that these 31 days of no drinking will help out with my weight loss, in conjunction with my working out.  I also eat about 1000-1200 calories per day.

{Motivation}

Each week seems to vary greatly with me working out.  I did good last week, working out before work.  Then nada.  Maybe I pushed myself too hard?  I don't really believe that though.  This break was a lot of drinking and not a lot of working out.  Even now, I'm typing about working out and not actually doing it.  *Sigh*  I let my tiredness from work and lack of sleep get in my way.

Time to get up, get dressed, eat, and head to the gym.

{Kill me, please}

In order to make up for my lack of motivation, I did the boot camp class AND zumba class back-to-back this afternoon.  Boot camp was crazy, insane. Tomorrow I'll definitely feel it but I feel good now.  I hated life from 5:30-7:30 though.

{I suck. Really.}

So, I did SO good that first week of working out!  Then I sucked! Haha!  The second week, the only workout I got was a 20 minute walk with the dog.  Last week (the 3rd week), I only worked out twice.  Blah.  The eating better works and then doesn't work.  I go through phases of doing it and then eating crap.  The good thing is, I only mainly eat the crap when we work day shifts.  I watched 3 episodes of the Biggest Loser last night though and got slightly motivated.  I mean these people are losing so much weight each week.  Surely, if they can put themselves through all that to lose hundreds of pounds (collectively), then I can push myself to lose 10lbs short-term and 20lbs long-term.

{Pain is Gain, right?}

After not working out for 6 months after getting out of the Air Force, it FINALLY felt like it was time again.  About 2 weeks after joining the gym I got yucky sick for 3 weeks.  It took about middle of the 4th week for me to get back to the gym but I've been going strong ever since.  Well, it's only been a week haha but, hey, I'm going.  I did hurt my good ankle somehow.  I have no idea what I did to it but it hurts like heck when I walk on it after being still for a bit.

Anyway, so the workouts have been really good so far.  I've been sore but maybe not sore enough which means I can probably push it just a bit more.  I think I should lighten the load on my leg workouts though since that's when my ankle started hurting.  I worked out with a 23 year old girl from work.  She's super tiny, my height or so.  But she's a freakin beast in the gym.  Ripped like nothing else too.  She was doing bench chest presses of 120lbs (total).  I struggled with 60lbs (total) and she had to spot me and help me out.  It was ok though because it definitely brought out my competitive edge.

I've also been doing some of the classes at the gym; body pump, zumba, cycle.  I REALLY enjoy the zumba class.  It's so much fun!  A description of the class for anyone who doesn't know:  This workout combines high energy and motivating music with synchronized dance movements designed for any fitness level. The routines feature aerobic fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body.  Seriously, it's awesome.  I really like the body pump class ( the original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This 60-minute workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls.)  also but it kills me... in a good way.  :)

Now, I just need to adjust my eating habits.  I bought a book called "The World's Healthiest Foods" and now I need to incorporate that in.  With working out for a fully week (well 5 out of 7 days) and not changing my eating habits too much, I've not seen a change in my weight (150'ish  - really it varies from 147-150).  Hopefully, I'll start seeing a change once I change my diet with the gym routine.  I'm so excited for this change in myself it's all I can do to NOT talk about it with everyone.  I'm also telling everyone I work with because I KNOW they'll keep me inline if I stop doing any of this.
